Our story

How PatentRenewal.com started

We founded PatentRenewal.com in 2017 in Denmark after seeing how the IP industry is built on fragmented processes, manual work, and hidden costs driven by unnecessary intermediaries.

We knew it could be simpler and more transparent. Since then, we have grown into a global IP renewal platform used by innovators worldwide. Today, we help inventors, SMEs, law firms, and enterprise teams take full control of their renewals, backed by transparent systems and reliable technology.

2017

Company42

We started out as Company42 (name inspired by The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) after repeatedly seeing how expensive and outdated patent renewals were.

2018

First office in Copenhagen

We opened our first office in Copenhagen and began expanding our platform and services.

2019

Rebrand to PatentRenewal.com

As our direction became clearer, we rebranded to PatentRenewal.com so our name matched what we were actually building and improving every day.

2023

Seed funding

We raised €2M in Seed funding from Vendep Capital, enabling us to grow the team and accelerate our global expansion.

2024

EIFO funding

The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) has also decided to support our journey with €1M funding to help us deploy more resources into our growth.

2024

Trademark renewals

We added trademark renewals to our solution, continuing to build toward a more complete way of handling IP renewals in one place.
