Where you pay in Azerbaijan depends on where you filed: filings made at the EAPO renew there, national filings at the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The patent runs up to year 20 either way. Miss a due date and you get a 12-month grace period, with a surcharge that starts at 15 AZN and climbs to 180 AZN.
Azerbaijan is a contracting state of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO). An EAPO patent takes effect in Azerbaijan once the EAPO grants it, and you pay its renewal fees directly to the EAPO, not to the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. National patents follow their own rules.

A 12-month grace period runs from the day after the due date. You can still pay the renewal fee with a surcharge that starts at 15 AZN and climbs to 180 AZN, and the patent continues without interruption. Once the grace period closes, the patent lapses.
If you miss a renewal due date of 15 March 2026, the patent enters the grace period on 16 March 2026. Settle the renewal fee and the surcharge by 15 March 2027 to keep the patent in force.
