Bas Albers

Bas Albers is an IP management expert with over 15 years of experience helping companies, from startups to listed corporates, to get real business value out of their patents.

He is the co-founder of Artemis IP-Management, where he developed the Patent Cockpit, a software that gives SMEs clear, transparent metrics to understand the costs, strengths, and ROI of their portfolios without needing a full-time IP department.

His focus is on aligning patents with business strategy, lowering costs, and ensuring portfolios don’t just grow in size but in real value.

Before Artemis, Bas spent nearly a decade as IP Manager at Meyer Burger Technology, a leading solar energy company, where he oversaw the full IP strategy, supported litigation, M&A, and worked closely with R&D teams to secure and defend innovation.

He also has a strong technical background in applied physics and engineering, with experience spanning solar energy, quantum mechanics, optics, electronics, and software. Today, he’s known for making IP management more transparent, practical, and ROI-driven,  especially for companies that don’t have dedicated IP teams.
