Trademark renewal fees in Poland: costs, due dates and grace period
Trademark renewal in Poland costs PLN 400 per class and is completed by paying the renewal fee to the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (UPRP); no renewal application is needed. Protection lasts 10 years from the filing date. You can pay up to a year before expiry, or within six months after it with 30% added, which cannot be extended.
What are the trademark renewal due dates in Poland?
A Polish trademark right lasts 10 years from the date the application was filed at the UPRP. The renewal fee can be paid from one year before the protection period ends.
The first renewal fee is due no later than the day the 10-year period ends, the anniversary of the filing date. Payment can be made from one year before that date. The UPRP sends a reminder at least six months before expiry, but a missing reminder does not excuse late payment.
For example, if the filing date is 2015-01-16, payment can be made from 2024-01-16 and is due by 2025-01-16.
Each payment extends protection by a further 10 years. There is no limit on the number of renewals.
For example, once renewed in 2025, the next payment is due by 2035-01-16.
Polish national trademarks are renewed with the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (Urząd Patentowy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, UPRP), under the Industrial Property Law.
Two other systems also cover Poland and are renewed elsewhere: an EU trademark is renewed with the EUIPO, and an international registration designating Poland is renewed through WIPO. Owners without a domicile or seat in the EU, the EEA or Switzerland must use a Polish professional representative (a patent attorney, advocate or legal adviser) for trademark maintenance matters.
Your renewal window opens one year before expiry, here 16 Jan 2024, and the deadline is 16 Jan 2025. Miss it and the mark can still be renewed until 16 Jul 2025 with 30% added to the fee. Each renewal adds another 10 years, with no limit on how many times.

Missed a trademark renewal deadline in Poland?
If the fee is not paid in time, it can still be paid within six months after the deadline together with an additional fee of 30%, PLN 520 per class in total. This six-month period cannot be reinstated: a payment made after it is refunded and the trademark right lapses.
If the payment due on 16 Jan 2025 is missed, the fee plus 30% can still be paid until 16 Jul 2025.
